Field Trips

One of the exciting aspects of our co-op is the array of field trips we organize. These outings offer hands-on learning experiences that help students explore various subjects in real-world settings. From visits to local museums and nature reserves to historical sites and science centers, our field trips encourage curiosity, foster teamwork, and provide opportunities for social interaction.

Market Day

Market Day is a special event where our students unleash their creativity by crafting items to sell. This hands-on experience allows them to learn valuable lessons about entrepreneurship, including product creation, cost analysis, and profit margins. On this day, kids can either barter or sell their goods, giving them a taste of real-world commerce.

Nature Journal

Nature journaling sharpens their observation skills and fosters a deep connection to the environment. As they sketch, write, and reflect, they're learning to appreciate the beauty and complexity of nature. It's a joy to see their creativity flourish and their love for the outdoors grow!

Seasonal Celebrations

As the seasons change, so do our celebrations! This year, our homeschool group has embraced the joy of seasonal festivities. Our autumn adventures include nature scavenger hunts, leaf turkeys, and gathering around the fire for s'mores. Watching the leaves change color is a perfect backdrop for reflection and creativity.

About us

In August of 2020 I started the Nature Explorers as a way to get children outside in a community to learn and explore together. Our small group was a haven for many families weathering the pandemic in search of connection. After our first year another mom asked to host a second day-We now have a Monday and Thursday group. While each group is distinct the board of directors oversees the administration of both groups

I strive for consistent faces to give our children the opportunity to establish real connections. I want them to come away each week renewed and excited for the next meetup. I hope for parents to lean on one another as well, homeschooling is so much better in a community!
